[SLEPT ON] Labrinth ft. Tinie Tempah - Earthquake

Okay, this song isn't TOO slept on, but it's still pretty unknown.

I've been a fan of British hip-hop for a long time now, (shouts out to Taio Cruz, Devlin, Talay Riley, Craig David etc.) but I hadn't heard of Labrinth until I checked out this video on YouTube.

The video was released on Oct 11th, and the song, featuring the homie Tinie Tempah was released on iTunes UK on the 23rd.

I love the electronic fusion that seems to be present in a lot of British hip-hop and R&B tracks and this song's definitely a BANGER!

If you grew up listening to FLOW 93.5 in T.O., then you ALREADY KNOW about this track!  One of the biggest summer tunes of the city!  Once again, BIG CHUNE!

When I first heard this song on the radio, I never knew the artist and so I legitimately looked for this song on and off for about three years, I swear to God.

I looked on every search engine with searches like, "the song that says 'reggae music keeps me alive...stand for equal rights'" and then one day, BAM! I found it.

Grab a bottle of Ting, cook up a patty or some jerk chicken, and enjoy!!

[THROWBACK] k-os - The Love Song

First off, I'm just going to say that this song is FOR SURE in my Top 10.

k-os is the man, not just because he's from Toronto, but because he's a real lyricist and an intelligent rapper.  Just like Shad, k-os can rap about REALNESS, without having to turn to money and cars as content.

I think I was 13 when his album, Joyful Rebellion, dropped and when I heard this song I couldn't stop singing, "it's funny how life can go...."

Big shout-out to the homie k-os for staying true.

Mixtape News

What's happening, it's Latto.  Haven't had time to throw a vlog together, just been busy with this music.  BUT on that note, I'm gettin real excited about Strings Attached.  The release date is still TBA, but we're getting it poppin!

Last night I had a listening session with the homie "Pete!" (YouTube) for the one of the tracks we produced together.  Look out for some live instruments and new production style from me on this tape.

That's about it for now, I'm gonn get back to writing.
